Number 5: What about the car?

If your journey starts in the car, it makes the choice of clothes more difficult. A car can warm up very quickly and overheat the baby. It is best to remove coats, hats and scarves from the baby whilst in the car and put them back on when getting out. Also, bulky snowsuits are best left off when in the car, opting to put them on whilst sitting in the back of the car with the baby before moving into the outside. Something you may never have considered before is how snug the car seat becomes with all the layers on. It might be better to keep the layers off, even if the car is cold, using a blanket instead.
